UHS Cross Country Results - Regionals @ Hutchinson

The Ulysses Boys Team and Sophomore Yessenia Ornelas Qualify For The Cross Country State Meet!
It was an exciting day at the 4A Regional Cross Country meet at Hutchinson on Saturday, October 20th, 2018, as the Ulysses Tigers Boys’ Varsity Team and Sophomore Runner Yessenia Ornelas all qualified for the State Cross Country meet to be held at Wamego on October 27th. The top 3 teams at each of the four, 4A regional meets, qualify for state and our guys earned a third place finish, finishing only 9 points behind Pratt who was the regional runner-up champion. Ulysses was led by junior, Garret Winner, who earned the 6th place medal, junior Eduardo Mendoza earned the 8th place medal, and senior Paul Garcia ran to an 11th place finish. The boys varsity team is fairly young as we only have one senior and two juniors so this has been a very exciting year. Yessenia Ornelas has qualified for the state meet both her freshman and sophomore year, earning the 10th place medal this year. The girls team ran to a 6th place finish to end their season. Both the boys and girls teams battled throughout the race, all the way through the finish line. We could not be more proud of all of our kids for their hard work and dedication!
