Ballesteros' Game-High 24 Points Major Factor

Gina Ballesteros's game-high 24 points and a monster second half lifted Ulysses to a 43-34 season-opening win over Colby.
The Lady Tigers trailed 24-13 at the half then exploded for 30 second-half points while holding Colby to 10.
A 17-2 fourth-quarter scoring edge completed the comeback.
Ballesteros dropped in three 3-pointers and was 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. Luz Gomez contributed nine points and a 5-of-8 free-throw effort. Alyssa Castilleja's eight points included two 3-pointers. Riley Oglevie and Mercedes Degollado dropped in four points apiece. Avery Ysac had a lone field goal.
Ulysses will now travel to Holcomb to take on the Longhorns Friday night in Holcomb.
