A fourth-quarter Hugoton touchdown and PAT dropped Ulysses to 0-2 on the young 2017 season.
The Tigers were coming off a season-opening 21-12 loss to Liberal.
Ulysses led Hugoton 7-0 after Zak Anderson ran in from two yards out and Maurice Ochoa's point after kick. They clung to a 7-6 lead entering the half. With 17 seconds remaining in the third, Andrew Nagel's four-yard TD run upped the Tigers' advantage to 13-6.
Hugoton's touchdown at the 7:31 mark of the fourth quarter and completion of a two-point PAT pass erased Ulysses's lead for good.
Nagel led the Tigers on the ground with 69 yards on 15 carries. Javian Bencomo ran 14 times for 67 yards. Anderson was 3-of-12 through the air. Julius Sifuentes had one catch for 39 yards. Sloan Hayden's reception accounted for 19 yards.
Ulysses hosts Holcomb on September 15. The Longhorns are 1-1, losing to Scott City 23-14 and defeating Cimarron 15-12.
