UHS Students Find Time for Sports, Academics and Now Community Service;

Need A Volunteer, UHS Students Are Ready To Help

September 01, 2016

Years ago, "Community Service" was a punishment imposed on juvenile offenders for their youthfulness and idle time. Not so much these days, therefore many schools have implemented such programs to give students an opportunity to serve their communities.

There are three main reasons why students volunteer:

  1. Some students accumulate community-service hours because it's a requirement for graduation or scholarships.
  2. Other students have found that doing community service gives them an edge among the college-bound competition.
  3. Still other students volunteer their time because they like helping people.

Therefore, Ulysses High School is no exception so we are trying to get the word out to our community about possible jobs or opportunities for our students to work with groups, charitable organizations, churches or people needing volunteers.

So -- If you need a volunteer, UHS students are ready to help.
