Ulysses Shakes Off Four Ties and Clingy Mulvane 36-29;
As the Wildcats Responded the Tigers Responded

Ulysses shook off four ties and clingy Mulvane 36-29 last Friday.
Zach Romero fueled the Tigers' first-half offense. He started the scoring with 6:07 left in the first quarter, scampering in from three yards out.
Mulvane, entering the game 2-4, tied the score at 8-8 with nearly six second-quarter minutes gone.
Eleven seconds later Romero's 65-yard TD run snapped the tie. But, the visitors knotted the score 15-15 before the half ended.
Mulvane snatched the lead 22-15 at the 8:10 mark of the third. It would be their last.
Ian Rudzik, who earned 185 yards on 35 carries, rambled four yards into the end zone 2:43 later.
One second remained before the conclusion of the third when Rudzik's one-yard plunge propelled Ulysses up, 29-22.
Pesky Mulvane responded again, tying the game at 29-29 with 8:42 left.
As the Wildcats responded the Tigers responded.
The clock read 2:29 after Rudzik's 20-yard TD gallop gave Ulysses the lead for good, 36-29.
Diego Maravilla was instrumental in the win, converting 4-of-4 PAT kicks.
Freddy Romero hauled in three passes for 61 yards.
The Tigers, 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the GWAC, journey to Rose Hill on October 24. Rose Hill is 2-5.
