Ulysses recovered from an overtime GWAC loss to Holcomb last week in dominating fashion last Friday.

The Tigers, behind Ian Rudzik’s six rushing touchdowns and Zach Romeo’s two, dominated Colby 62-14 at Homecoming 2014.

Placekicker Diego Marivlillia was perfect, going 6-of-6 on PATs.

Ulysses exploded offensively the first 30 minutes, building what proved to be an insurmountable 49-7 half-time lead.

Rudzik started the barrage, running in from 37 yards out with 9:53 left in the first quarter.

A 1:03 later Romero scampered 27 yards to increase the Tigers’ lead to 13-0.

Romero added TD No. 2 soon after, stepping in from two yards out and bumping the lead to 20-0.

Rudzik scored on runs of 37, 74, 51, 20, 35, and 20 yards. He collected 244 yards on eight carries. Romero totaled 10 carries and 66 yards.

Tregg Rodriguez scooted 65 yards in the third quarter for the Tigers’ final score.

QB Braden Scott was 3-of-6 for 81 yards. Rudzik had three catches for 57 yards.

Ulysses improves to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the GWAC. They travel to Goodland on October 3.

Goodland defeated Hugoton 31-28 last Friday. The Cowboys are 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the GWAC (Holcomb – l; Scott City – l; Hugoton – w).
