KMS Students Make Honor Band

Four KMS students were selected to participate in the Southwest Kansas Middle School Honor Band. The students had to record an audition and then send it to a group of judges. Max Giesaking, who plays trombone, Wyatt Krom, who plays trombone, Vianca Vergara, who plays Clarinet, and Salma Pena, who plays Clarinet, were selected. Max was selected as 1st chair out of 14.
The group is a select group of 7th and 8th graders from all over Southwest Kansas who met Saturday, November 9th, in Dodge City. The students rehearsed music all morning and part of the afternoon and gave a concert in the afternoon.
Scott Freeby from Manhattan, KS was the guest conductor this year.
