Ulysses is the trade center of Grant County. Rich, irrigated farm land, the world's largest natural gas deposit with related industries, and cattle-feeding lots scattered about the county provide a prosperous economy. A public library, airport, civic center, museum and hospital are a part of Ulysses. Recreational activities include an active recreation program, a nine-hole golf course (soon to be 18), movie theater, skateboard park and an indoor/outdoor swimming facility.
